Extensive preparations and ongoing work for the establishment of the thirteenth Karbala International Fair.

Since three month, the committee supervising the preparations for the Book Fair organized within the Festival of the martyrdom spring, works hard and without interruption so that the Fair's thirteenth edition would be the best. A series of meetings were held with the publishing houses participating from inside and outside Iraq within the terms and rules of participation that have been announced earlier.

And to speak about the ongoing preparations, Al-Kafeel Network met with the Director of Karbala International Fair and the member of the Preparatory Committee of the International Cultural Festival of Martyrdom Spring in its thirteenth edition; Sayed Muyassar Al-Hakeem: "The preparations began since three months for this this great event, and the publishing houses have sent their participation's letters through sites so we can collect and organize them after that the participation was opened for the Fair."

He added: "So far, we have received participation from many countries, including Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Iran and Iraq. We have collected and organized them by specialized committees to support and prepare the fair from the technical side, the rehabilitation of pavilions and land and processing lighting and other. And God willing, all of this will be ready a month before the opening date. And we hope that the opening this year will be on the 24th of April and will last 15 days."

Indicating: "This edition of the fair will include new additions with respect to what will be displayed by the publishing houses and in terms of organization and the specification and diversity of the publications."

It is to note that the number of publishing houses participating in the previous edition was 211 local, Arab and international houses from 13 countries: Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, UAE, Syria, Morocco, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Great Britain, Spain, Canada and Italy, as well as the host country Iraq. The area of the fair was nearly 3000 square meters, in which thousands of titles and hundreds of thousands copies were displayed during ten days, and amid a large turnout.
