The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine holds its annual Ashura Council

In an atmosphere full of grief and sorrow and the believers' eyes adorned by the tears over the tragedy of the Master of martyrs Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), and as usual every year, the Department of the Service Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine hold in the sanctuary of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) its annual Ashura Council to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hussayn, his family and companions (peace be upon them).

The head of the Department of the Service Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Haj Khalil Hanoon has briefed us saying: "The Council is held annually and last for thirteen days from the first of the holy month of Muharram, and it is held twice a day, in the morning and after the prayers of Dohr and Asr, and so as to not intersect with the condolences processions movement. The Council [Majlis] is held with the wide attendance of the servants of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in addition to the visitors."

He continued: "The agreement with the religious affairs department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, was reached to prepare preachers to give religious lectures in the form of a jurisprudential and doctrinal series highlighting the revolution of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and its contribution to the Islamic nation and to the whole world, and how he (peace be upon him) became a beacon lighting the path of the free ones as he is the peace to all mankind."

Indicating: "The council concludes with a lamentation [latm] session with the participation of the Radood Mulla Hamid al-Tamimi, who recite poems about what happened to Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and his family (peace be upon them) in such days."

It is noteworthy that the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine hold a series of jurisprudential and doctrinal councils and lectures that aim primarily at showing the injustice on all members of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), as well as the goals and results of the blessed revolution of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).
