As part of its activity in counting the visitors in the Arba'een season of the year 1439 AH and for the second year in a row, the electronic counting system of the Communications Division at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine continued its work in counting electronically the visitors coming to the holy city of Karbala on the three axes of the roads leading to it (Baghdad - Karbala, Najaf - Karbala, Babylon - Karbala), in addition to those entering the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) except the visitors walking from the road of al-Hussaynia District (al-'atishi) and the Karbala - Ain Tamr road.
On this occasion, Eng. Firas Abbas Hamza, Head of the Communications Division at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, said: "The project ensures the counting of the visitors whether walking or passengers in cars, using 12 video analysis systems that operate electronically by inserting visitor data, in terms of length, width, size and speed of the car. And works 24 hours and around the clock, starting the count from 7th of Safar 1439 AH."
Confirming that: "The total number of the visitors counted up to the end of the 17th of Safar 1439 AH is 10.139.437 visitors."
For his part, the director of the Center for Information and Statistical Studies of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Mr. Jassam al-Sai'di explained: "The Center, in cooperation with the Communications Division at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, will complete the final data of the Ziyarat, including the data of the electronic counting system, and the rest of the data obtained from the other departments in the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them)."
