The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine issued a statement explaining the number of visitors of the Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) in the year 1439 AH.

The Secretary General of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has issued on Friday evening 20th Safar 1439 AH corresponding to November 10, 2017, a statement explaining the number of visitors coming to Karbala for the commemoration of the ritual of Arba'een.

This statement announces the end of the Arba'een season after that crowds came to the holy city of Karbala, and were honored to commemorate this blessed Ziyarat, The statement is as follows:

"Peace be upon al-Hussayn, upon Ali son of al-Hussayn, upon the children of al-Hussayn and upon the companions of al-Hussayn (peace be upon them). We extend our condolences to the Imam al-Hujjah (peace be upon him) and all the believers in the world for the anniversary of Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) asking the Almighty to protect the lands of Muslims from all evil and that the visitors of Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) return to their cities and homelands safe with accepted deeds of worship, and to give the reward of Ziyarat to the brothers fighters stationing in the battlefields as the visitors did not forget them in their prayer.

The holy city of Karbala was honored by the guests and visitors of Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) in the blessed Ziyarat of millions this year. The servants of the holy shrine had the great honor to receive them and provide their services to the visitors. These services included many activities including the service of documenting the numbers of visitors by the installation of monitoring cameras specialized in the statistics of visitors on four axes (Baghdad - Karbala, Najaf - Karbala, Babylon - Karbala, Hussaynia - Karbala.)

The total number of visitors on these four axes 13.874.818 thirteen million eight hundred and seventy-four thousand eight hundred and eighteen visitors for a period from 7th to 20th of Safar. We ask the Almighty God to accept from everyone and to help us to what pleases Him. He is the Hearer of the Supplication."
