The International al-'Ameed Center of Studies and Research of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held in collaboration with the Faculty of Education for Human Sciences in Karbala University a Cultural Festival to celebrate the blessed birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) on Tuesday 16th Rabi' Awwal 1439 AH corresponding to the December 5, 2017 under the slogan "Our Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) we are safe and united."
The festival, which was hosted by the Deanship Hall of the Faculty of Education for Human Sciences, was attended by representatives of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine as well as professors and students of the university and the faculty. The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by reading Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq. Then the word of the Deanship of the Education Faculty was delivered by its Dean Prof. Dr. Adnan Mared Jabr, in which he stated: "Our Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) called us to the morals of ethics, and thus it is necessary to have ethics and adhere to his true approach and follow the biography of his holy family (peace be upon them). And this celebration is a sign of commitment to his Sunnah and to follow his path and work with his law."
In conclusion, Dr. Adnan thanked on behalf of the university of Karbala, the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, this initiative to the establishment of this festival in our faculty, which we hope will be repeated on the coming occasions.
The al-'Ameed International Center for Studies and Research had a word delivered by the Head of the Department of Arabic Language at Karbala University; Prof. Dr. Ali Kadhem al-Maslawi, stating: "Today, we commemorate the birth anniversary of the Master of all creations, the loved by Allah; Aba al-Qassem Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), whose birth was a light for heavens and earths and removed the darkness by the light of Islam..."
Adding: "On this occasion, we call on our students to draw inspiration from the biography of the noble prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) in their behaviors and ethics, especially that we live in the era of distortion of the intellectual and doctrinal system of the Islamic nation."
The festival included also a scientific educational lecture of Prof. Dr. Abbood Judi al-Hilli, in which he highlighted aspects of the biography of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), focusing on the human side.
The festival included also poems about the love of the Holy Prophet and Ahl al-Bayt (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) and at the end of the festival, appreciation certificates were distributed to the participants in the festival and those who contributed in its establishment.
