The Institute of the Holy Quran for women of the Department of Islamic and Humanity Knowledge Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, concludes its second national competition for the memorization of the Holy Quran with the participation of 1000 contestants, aiming to the dissemination of the Quranic culture, strengthening the spiritual ties with the Holy Book of Allah and activating the effective role of the Holy Quran in daily life and encouraging the Quran's readers to memorize the Holy Quran.
After the preliminary stages that resulted in the qualification of 85 women memorizing the holy shrine, the closing ceremony of the competition that lasted three days, included testing the contestants in memorizing parts of the holy Quran and testing also those who memorize all chapters of the Holy Quran.
The closing ceremony held at the Hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) included a speech of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine delivered by the Deputy Secretary-General, Engineer Bashir Mohammed Jassem Al-Rubaie, in which he praised the efforts exerted by the Women's Institute to establish a women's Quranic base to compete and participate in local and international competitions, and congratulated the winners of this competition.
The ceremony also included a collective Quranic recitation of Surat al-Fajr by a group of girls from the kindergarten of Ahbab Al-Kafeel. Then the names of the winners were announced and they were honored along with the jury of the preliminary and national competition, as well as honoring the oldest lady to memorize the Holy Quran in the Institute of the Holy Quran for women.
