The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine's station for water desalination is one of the projects that aims to meet the needs of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine and its visitors, the service Hussayni processions and the people of the Old City by pure salt-free water, as well as contributing to distribute it to the visitors of the holy shrines.
The plant is equipped with a range of advanced systems suitable for raw water in holy Karbala, and works on water purification and desalination using the latest Reverse Osmosis technology, which ensures access to high purity water and sanitary specifications conforming to local and international quality standards, in large quantities capable of cover and surpass the actual need.
The plant was also provided with a mechanical pull system, electrical system, water supply and sanitation, as well as several other subsystems and services, taking into consideration any future developments in terms of equipment, equipment or origin. The concrete foundations of the project were increased, making it ready for any future development, as well as equipping it with large water tanks.
The station is located near the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him). It was built on a land area of 425 square meters on two floors. The total area of the building is 850 square meters at an altitude of seven and a half meters, ensuring any future expansion.
The supervision of the management of this system, is conducted by technical and engineering staff specialized in the maintenance and continuity of its work, linked to the Division of Water of the Department of Engineering Projects in the holy shrine.
