The generosity of the Iraqis in the Ziyarat Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) on the list of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization decided to include the file of service and hospitality for the Ziyarat Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) on the international list of UNESCO in the list of the intangible heritage of humanity during the fourteenth session meetings in the Colombian capital Bogota in the presence of more than (900) scientific personalities from 153 countries.

Iraq representative at the meeting and the official of the International Organizations Division in the General Cultural Relations Department at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Iman Abdel Wahab, stated: "The file submitted by the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine, has been accepted and voted by the member states in the meeting."

Professor Amir Kamel, representative of the Karbala Center for Studies and Research within the Iraqi delegation participating in the work of UNESCO, said: "The organization, during its fourteenth meeting held in Bogota, the capital of Colombia, in the period between (8/14 December), decided to include the element of hospitality and provision of services during the Ziyarat Arba'een in the representative list on the List of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity, as voting was done unanimously without any remarks mentioned at the periodic world meeting of UNESCO, which was held in Bogata / Colombia.

It is worth noting that the file prepared and supervised by the Karbala Center for Studies and Research, was submitted in the name of the Republic of Iraq through the Ministry of Culture, according to the official protocols between countries.
