Important: The statement about the health status of His Eminence, the Supreme Religious Authority.

Today, Friday 21st Jumada Al-Ula 1441 AH) corresponding to (17 January 2020) the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority His Eminence, Sayed Ahmad Al-Safi, declared a statement in which he clarified the state of health of His Eminence the Supreme Religious

Authority; Grand Ayatollah Sayed Ali al-Husseini al-Sistani.

The following is the text of the statement:

In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,

With the praise of God and from the land of Imam Al-Hussayn and Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas, peace be upon them, and thanks to their blessings and the efforts of the Iraqi medical team at the Kafeel Specialized Hospital, we announce to our honorable Iraqi people and the Islamic nation, that the health of His Eminence, the supreme religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayed Ali al-Husseini al-Sistani, is fine, praise be to God, and he is gradually recovering.

The Iraqi medical team has confirmed that the surgery that was performed to His Eminence yesterday was successful thanks to God the Almighty, and his health condition today is good and stable as he started sitting and walking for some steps today. And the results of laboratory tests in the hospital showed that his health condition is very good. And he is currently in the process of medical rehabilitation and physiotherapy. He is likely to leave the hospital soon when the medical team decides that.

The following are the names of the Iraqi medical team that conducted the operation to His Eminence; the Supreme Religious Authority in Al-Kafeel Specialized Hospital, and supervised the case of His Eminence:
