The head of the Engineering Projects Department at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Eng. Diaa Majeed Al-Sa'egh, announced that the completion rate of the secondary electric transforming station has reached 95%, which is implemented to serve the Karbala Governorate from the financial allocations of the Holy Shrine, in order to contribute to the delivery of a stable electric current.
He added: "The project is held in (Al-Zabilia region) on the road linking the (Najaf - Karbala) and (Babel - Karbala) roads, and on an area of 3.000 square meters, invested to:
- A building of the plant, which has taken the largest area of the facility. It has been designed and executed in accordance with the nature of the building, appliances, and electrical equipment.
- A building to manage the station and be adjacent to the station, and it has been designated as the administrative rooms of the maintenance staff in it.
- Four residential homes for the station's employees.
- Green spaces and various service facilities. "
And al-Sa'egh emphasized: "The transforming station was equipped with its own equipment and devices, most of which are from the French Schneider Electric SA (transformers, controllers, gauges, switches, circuit breakers, etc.) that ensure the receipt of the high voltage and convert it to a low voltage, to feed the areas that will be covered by Pneumatic power lines or cables, all of which are conform to the specifications of the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity.
It is noteworthy that the establishment of this station came as a contribution from the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to reduce the loads on the secondary stations in the Karbala governorate, because of their small numbers, which caused fluctuations or interruptions in the electric current, especially during peak days, and the project was implemented by the staffs of Tayba London Company for General Trade and Iraqi Contracting, after taking official and fundamental approvals from the Governorate Electricity Directorate.
