The head of the engineering projects department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Eng. Dea' Majeed al-Sa'egh, announced that the second part of the work of cladding the Taremah [golden Iwan] of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) has begun.
The second phase includes the left side of the entrance to the holy sanctuary from the direction of the qibla, and finalising the work of the first part, in the space between the Holy Sanctuary wall and the meeting point of the holy Shrine.
Al-Sa'egh added: “The works are being carried out according to what is planned and in a manner that does not intersect with the movement of visitors or affect and intersect with other works that are conducted in conjunction with them, which are the final stages of the first part of which some of the work of cladding the upper part of the facade of the Holy Sanctuary Services Administration room remains, and on which the columns of the Taremah are based, and the text of Ziyarat will be fixed on it. The works also included building a library of alabaster inside the wall to be used to store the Ziyarat and supplications' books."
He continued his speech: "The works that we started in this part are similar to what was in the first part, starting by breaking the old floor and removing it, then treating the ground and injecting it with special materials that work to increase its strength on the one hand, and on the other hand to increase the strength of the wall adjacent to it."
The project is executed by the Engineering Projects Department and the Engineering Maintenance Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine. It is a complement to a series of projects carried out in a the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), as a result of the great damage of the current marble, which led to the distortion of its general view in addition to being old (50 years).
