The Department of Engineering Maintenance and Construction at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced the conclusion of the works related to the sanitary complex project (the visitor's oasis [Wahat al-Za'er]), which is located at the entrance to Baghdad Gate from the northern side of the Old City.
The supervisor of the implementation of the project, Mr. Hassan Abdul-Hussein, stated to the Al-Kafeel Network, saying: “The total area of the project is (1,500 square meters) and includes (200) bathroom units divided equally between men and women, both of which are located underground, with an investment of its superstructure, which is estimated at (656 square meters)., in a way that beautifies the area and the route that visitors take.
He added: “The complex is equipped with special places for people with special needs, and it has been equipped with integrated systems that suit the nature of the project, including pumps, water heaters, water tanks, control rooms, management and stores, as well as a modern and advanced system for changing air and purifying the atmosphere of the complex, in addition to places for ablution and others for drinking water, a sewage system, an integrated lighting system, a lightning rod system, in addition to the grounding system, the air conditioning and heating system."
It is worth mentioning that the project aims to provide good services to the visitors of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), in continuation of a series of service projects of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine including sanitary complexes. The project was initiated by the supervision of the mentioned department and funded by one of the donors, taking into account to not intersect with any project of the future expansion projects of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.
