Adding new spaces to the Al-Joud Courtyard.

The staff of the Engineering Maintenance and Construction Department at the al-Abbas's (peace be upon him) holy shrine started the infrastructure works for the spaces that were recently added to the al-Joud courtyard located on the left side of al-Qibla Gate Street of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him). These works follow the demolition of buildings that the holy shrine bought on an area of 1450 square meters.

This is third stage of work on this courtyard, which is part of the expansion project that the Holy Shrine seeks to achieve, which will provide large areas in the service of visitors.

Mr. Hassan Abdul-Hussein, the supervisor of these works, stated to Al-Kafeel Network: "These works follow the removal of all the buildings on the specified area. The first stage was the establishment of the infrastructure network, which is considered one of the most important works of this project. And once it is completed, we will start the next step, which is preparing the ground for covering it, and completing other related works that will be implemented successively.”

He added, "The works included building an integrated infrastructure network (electricity - sewage - communications - cameras - potable water), and through service channels for each system separately, according to a plan drawn up by the department's presidency and approved by the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine."

It is noteworthy that the work of this project aims to contribute to absorbing the human momentum in this space and increasing the absorptive capacity of the number of visitors, especially during the days of large Ziyarat seasons that witness heavy traffic of visitors, which affects the performance of their rituals when they are unable to enter the Holy Shrine. Noting that this area is considered one of the most important gates of the Holy shrine, which have a special impact on the souls of the visitors of the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
