The ceiling project of the Shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) included a number of works, starting by strengthening the shrine's walls, passing through the erection of the iron bridges, installation of tents and domes, and covering them from the exterior and the installation of insulation materials and the secondary ceilings from the interior, to reach the finishing works; the installation of the glass-parts cut technically and ergonomically, noting that these works need a long time as they need precision and craftsmanship depending on the measurements of different sizes and shapes.
These works are not limited to the glazing ones but also drawing the patterns and dying some areas that need a chromatic and configurable symmetry with the pieces of glass, whether in columns or the upper parts of the walls or domes, and according to the design plan set for it, these mirror pieces have numerous specifications, they are Belgian origin and of high standards of quality, with a thickness up to 2mm. They are characterized by their colour and their resistance to the harshest conditions, they were cut by using CNC technique, and the choice of the colors and forms are harmonised and symmetrical with the architectural design of the holy shrine in a modern and contemporary way.
And according to this, 95 % of the works in the eastern parts have been accomplished after the completion of the northern and western parts, all of which is performed according to the plan that have been developed, which takes into account to not create a state of hustle or intersection with the movement of visitors to the side of Al-Qibla gate, which is the side that is less covered by glass, as it contains glass tents, which needs to be implemented accurately and need longer time, for containing many inscriptions and technical complexity, and the works of gluing them to the ceilings are conducted manually, using special resins that need special technique to handle it.
It is to mention that the roofing project of the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) is one of the projects that has been given a great interest by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and has harnessed for it all the means in order to complete it within the specific time period and according to its design and implementation plans, as it will be a quality and uniqueness shift in the world of construction and Islamic architecture, in addition to represent the outcome of efforts of planning, perseverance and hard work by the technical and engineering staff of the holy shrine, it will also create an environment that help the visitor of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) to perform his Ziyarat and worship rituals.
