The works of cladding the Iwans of the holy sanctuary of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) with alabaster are conducted in accelerated pace, and some completed work started being visible gradually. The work reached the fifth part in the area confined between the gate of Imam Musa al-Kadhem (peace be upon him) and the gate of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him), the western part of the holy sanctuary.
The head of the engineering projects department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Eng. Diaa Majeed Al-Sa'egh briefed us about these works stating: "The completion rate of this stage of the project of cladding the floor, the walls and Iwans of the holy sanctuary of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) -which includes the cladding of the Iwans and the floor and the area between them by the Kashi al-Karbala'i - has reached advanced stages of achievement, and will be completed, God willing, within the timing and design plans prepared for it."
He also pointed out that the new marble, which will be used in the cladding works, is of the type of "multi-onyx" that has been subjected to several technical and engineering tests in terms of endurance and consistency of color and thickness 4 cm, in addition to other specifications that gave beauty to these marble pieces."
Al-Sa'egh concluded: "The work is carried out within the design and executive plans of the project, which will result a wonderful piece of art that completes the rest of the artistic works designed and executed by the servants of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him)."
