Within the framework of its free projects, 20 desalinated water plants produces continuously and free of charge 73 thousand liters per hour to the citizens of Karbala and other provinces.

The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine adopted several service projects, including those in direct relation with the life of the Iraqi citizens, and it has worked within its means to alleviate as much as possible their burdens.

One of the most important problems that these projects have contributed to solving is the scarcity and pollution of water. There are 20 stations established by the holy shrine for the desalination of water (R0 station) in various locations, and the number of beneficiaries of these services exceeded tens of thousands in addition to visitors and processions, as there are stations created specifically for their service.

The head of the water division at department of engineering projects -the supervisory body of these stations-; engineer Ahmad Hameed explained to al-Kafeel Network: "A part of the stations has been implemented in the holy province of Karbala and its suburbs and the other part is located outside the province. The production capacity of these stations is (73,000) liters per hour with a storage capacity of 323,000 liters."

He added: "The establishment of these stations is executed after that the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine looked at the reality lived by many, and after conducting a field tour to see the appropriate place and set up the work of the installation of the parts of the station, which vary from one to another depending on the production capacity and the storage capacity. Noting that these plants are manufactured and assembled from known global sources, whether pumps, membranes osmosis, filters or electric control panels, in addition to the installation of giant water reservoirs suitable for production and storage capacity for each station. "

Saying: "Our work is not limited to the installation, but there are preparatory works such as setting up the ground and the work of electrical and water installations, in addition to various service matters, which differ from one station to another."

He stressed that "all these works are carried out by the staff of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine who have the expertise in this field without the help of any other party, and that our work is not limited to the installation and the delivery of water, but there are continuous tours and visits that are conducted in order to follow up its work and maintenance in the event of any failure" .

Indicating: "Among the stations we set up: Mazar Ibn Hamza/ Bab al-Khan, village of Razzazah, Mazar Rad Shams, the host of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for the service of the visitors on the road Najaf -Karbala, the procession of the two holy shrines for the service of visitors on the road Najaf - Karbala, stations in provinces of Basra, Dhi Qar, Amerli and Nukhayb, as well as five stations inside the holy city of Karbala, a station of the bakery of the popular mobilization in Mulhaq district in Karbala, a station in the village of Abu Amer in Hindiyah district, in addition to the principle station of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine."
