The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine launches the sixth edition of the Cultural Festival of Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him).

The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine launched under the slogan: (Imam al-Baqer - peace be upon him - the treasure of the message and of the Imamate), the sixth edition of the Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him) cultural festival, which comes as a continuation of its previous editions, in celebration and remembrance of the auspicious birth anniversary of Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him).

And this morning, Tuesday (February 25, 2020), the hall of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him) at the holy shrine hosted the opening ceremony in the presence of religious, academic and cultural figures and delegations, as well as representatives of the holy shrines.

The opening activities of the festival included reciting verses from the Holy Quran and reading Surat Al-Fatihah in respect of the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, then listening to the Iraqi national anthem and then the anthem of the holy shrine. And there was a speech of its General Secretariat delivered by the Acting Assistant to the Head of the Religious Affairs Department; Sheikh Adel Al-Wakil, through which he invited writers and authors to continue cognitive codification in scientific and methodological ways, highlighting the treasures and knowledge of the imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and the scholars who walked and followed their path.

After that, the poet Adel Al-Swayri recited a poem about Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him) and his great morals.

Then the first research session was opened, including a reading of a research summary marked by (Imam al-Baqer - peace be upon him - a pillar of divine religiosity) by the scholar Sheikh Ali Mohan.

Then interventions, questions and inquiries by the attendees started, and the researcher in turn answered and clarified what needed to be clarified. To conclude this session with this research and other research will be resumed this afternoon with the participation of a number of researchers.
