On its 29th anniversary: Recalling the violations suffered by the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in the Sha'ban uprising.

The people of Karbala and visitors of the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) remember the brutal assault by the Saddam regime’s puppets during the Sha'ban uprising, whose 29th anniversary passed a few days ago, which occurred specifically in the month of March 1991.

What is evident in the memory of the people of the city and the visitors of the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) was what the holy shrine was exposed to, that over 15 days, the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) and the surrounding areas were subjected to air and ground strikes by the regime without mercy and respect for any sanctity.

The shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) was subjected to direct hits, which caused great damage to the holy dome, the outer wall, the qibla gate, the clock and its tower, in addition to the holy sanctuary and parts of the taremah with the burning and destruction of a number of the gates of the holy sanctuary, not to mention the collapse of large parts of it, which were uprooted and destroyed and the collapse of large parts led to the cracking of the inner and outer walls of the sanctuary and the outer wall.

The forces assigned to this barbaric attack surrounded the Holy Shrine and then stormed it, and arrested large numbers of youth in it and executed many of them by shooting, and the properties of the holy shrine from gifts and collectibles, documents and manuscripts were looted or burned.

The people of the city report that the forces of the former Saddam regime stormed the city and destroyed the houses and buildings surrounding the two shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and his brother Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them both). The forces did not stop at this point, but they dared to desecrate the holy sanctuary and directed their bombs towards it until they destroyed parts of it.

According to observers and historians, attacking the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) by the former oppressing regime is an extension of the series of attacks by tyrants against the holy shrine throughout history.

It is noteworthy that if the legitimacy returns to the holy shrines after the fall of the criminal regime. And the citizen Ali Jawad Tata from the Baghdad governorate presented a collection of rare photos to the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs in the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine that had not been published before, and it was tabulated within one of the Photo gallery's sections, for follow-up click here.Https://alkafeel.net/photos/index.php?v=section&id=24

The deputy head of the aforementioned department, Sayed. Aqeel Al-Yasiri, told Al-Kafeel Network that: “These photos belong to the Sha'ban uprising in Karbala, and they show the brutality of the attack launched by the Saddam regime on Karbala and its holy shrines, and the extent of destruction and damage inflicted on it, showing the recklessness of his soldiers of our beloved Iraq. These photos were printed and displayed at many festivals inside and outside Iraq, to express the monstrosity of the Saddam Baathist regime and its hideous policy that it practiced against the Iraqi people for 35 years.
