Urgent: Funeral ceremonies for traffic accident victims from the visitors of the shrine of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her).

On Tuesday morning (14 Rajab 1441 AH) corresponding to (10 March 2020), a solemn ceremony for the funeral of the victims of the traffic accident to which the visitors of the Holy Shrine of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) were exposed, was launched, after the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in cooperation with many parties transported the bodies from the capital Syrian Damascus by military plane belonging to the Iraqi Ministry of Defense from Damascus airport to the Najaf airport.

The funeral ceremony started from Qibla Gate Street of the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), with the broad participation of the people of the city, and the servants of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), as well as representatives of the local government in Karbala and its security leaders.

The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, in turn, prepared all matters for these edicts and set aside a space in the shrine's courtyard to perform the funeral prayer and Ziyarat rituals. The mourners will then proceed towards the shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), passing through the square between the two holy shrines, to be transferred to their final resting place.

It is noteworthy that the victims' bodies arrived at the Najaf airport at dawn today, Tuesday, after the efforts of the delegation of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, after they had completed funeral ceremonies conducted in the holy shrine of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her). The delegation supervised on the ground the transfer, which was done in collaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Syria, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the Joint Operations Command, as well as the local government in Karbala and its health department.
