Important: The two holy shrines announce the discontinuation of congregational prayer as a precaution

The holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) issued on this morning of 15th Rajab 1441 AH corresponding to March 11, 2020 a statement regarding the suspension of the establishment of congregational prayer in view of the preventive instructions issued by the Health Department of Karbala in order to preserve the safety of the dear visitors.

It is noteworthy that His Eminence, the supreme religious authority, Sayed Ali al-Husseini al-Sistani, responded to a religious question that was directed to his eminence’s office on his opinion on participating in congregational prayer in light of the spread of Corona virus.

"These gatherings are banned to limit the spread of coronavirus, it must be heard and taken seriously."
