Removing 90% of the carpet of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.

Every spring season, the staffs of the Holy Sanctuary's Care Department at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine work to remove a percentage of the carpet furnished and replace it with another set or vacate the spaces it covered during the winter season, in order to contribute to softening the atmosphere and conducting periodic cleaning operations.

As a complement to these works, 90% of the carpet furnished in the holy sanctuary was removed. And this year, this coincided with the precautionary and preventive measures taken to limit the spread of Corona Virus, which was issued by the committee charged by the Holy Shrine to manage this file.

The assistant of the head of the department, Mr. Zain Al-Abideen Adnan Ahmad Al-Quraishi, explained to the al-Kafeel Network: “The carpet replacement and maintenance work is carried out periodically, as we work to replace it continuously and at the same time we start cleaning and perfuming the holy sanctuary. And this year, our work coincided with the spread of the Corona virus, so we decided to remove the carpet as a precaution, starting with the principle (prevention is better than cure)."

He added, "The remaining carpet, which is estimated at 10%, was distributed to specific places inside the holy sanctuary, which were surrounded by metal separations and isolated from exposed parts."

Stressing: "The furnished carpet is replaced regularly with another carpet every three days, provided that it is washed and sterilized before it is brushed, and this is a context that was used before the crisis came, but we have intensified these procedures at the present time."
