The International Federation of Libraries and Information (IFLA) lists the story of the Library and Manuscripts House within its official website

The International Federation of Libraries and Information (IFLA) has included the story of the library and the manuscripts house at to the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine within its official website, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development, and is the first library among the Iraqi libraries to be included in the aforementioned site.

The scientific assistant of the Center for Indexing and Information Systems, Professor Samer Basem Lafta, said: “The Indexing and Information Systems Center has consistently highlighted the goals achieved by the Library and Manuscripts House through achieving goals (9) and (11) of the sustainable development goals, and this is considered as a first step followed by adding other stories to show the remaining goals that have been achieved by the library. "

He added: "The story of the library and the manuscripts House of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine that was included in the International Federation of Libraries and Information (IFLA), is on achieving the goals of sustainable development, entitled: (To safeguard and give access to documentary heritage)."

He continued: "This is the first addition for Iraq, because the library and manuscripts house at the holy shrine is the first among the libraries of our homeland, and thus Iraq has become the second Arab and the sixteenth globally on the website of the International Federation of Libraries and Information (IFLA)."
