The sixth anniversary of the Karbala Heritage Journal

The Karbala Heritage Journal is one of the most important publications issued by the Karbala Heritage Center, which is affiliated with the Department of Islamic and Humanitarian Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, and it is the first referred quarterly journal in Iraq that deals with the Karbala heritage, approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and approved for the purposes of scientific promotion. Its first number was issued in (2014) and is still continuing with its research endeavor, with the participation of elites of researchers with research and proposals that have been characterized by modernity in the offering, highlighting the various components of the holy city of Karbala, which is abundant and neglected by history.

This is explained by the director of the aforementioned center and the editor-in-chief of the journal, Dr. Ihsan Al-Ghuraifi. He added: “The horizon of the Karbala Heritage referred journal widens with its various components, from the various sciences and arts in which the notables of this city are concerned, in terms of jurisprudence, origins, words, men, letters, Hadith, eloquence, mathematics, astrology and Literature, and so on, which cannot be examined by study and investigation.

He added: "And since there was a definite correlation and a complete relationship between science and its development and between historical events from political, economic, social and other, scientific studies concerned with the history of this city and its facts and what happened to it are among the interests of the journal as well."

Al-Ghuraifi explained: "(22) numbers and six volumes were issued from the journal until 2019, during which (200) research papers were published in various sections of the journal, by researchers from inside and outside the holy city of Karbala, and that all published research is chosen according to a scientific method, where every research is subject to examination by a scientific committee that includes a number of specialized academics, and the Center was keen to form an advisory body for this journal that includes a select group of specialized professors in Iraqi universities, along with other elite professors from Arab and foreign universities from Egypt, Turkey, Oman and Yemen.

He explains: "Ten research papers are published in each number, including specialized researches in societal heritage that includes folklore, customs and traditions, including researches related to the historical and architectural heritage of the city, and other researches related to the scientific and literary heritage, in addition to the researches that deal with the artistic and aesthetic aspects of Karbala in the present and in the past ".

At the end of his speech, Al-Ghuraifi invited researchers and academics to participate in publishing their research in the journal, by communicating with the journal's email: (turath.karbala@gmail.com) and contact numbers are: (07700479123) - (07810528170).
