The technical and engineering staff in the division between the Two Holy Shrines began the work of rehabilitating a street in the ancient holy city of Karbala, which is the street leading to the shrine of Ibn Hamza (may God be pleased with him) on the side of Bab Baghdad, which is considered one of the important streets that witnesses a heavy movement of visitors continuously with crowding in the peak days of the special Ziyarat, in order to start developing and showing it in a decent and beautiful appearance, compatible with the developments in the main and sub streets leading to the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
This is what was shown to the al-Kafeel Network, Engineer Alaa Hamza Salman, the official of the General Maintenance Division in the aforementioned department, who added: "The work of rehabilitating the street is part of a campaign carried out by the department of the area between the Two Holy Shrines, to develop and rehabilitate the streets and squares nearby and leading to the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine. "
He added: "We initiated these actions in coordination with the Municipality of Karbala, and included the removing of caravans that were used previously in addition to the removal of rubble that was on both sides of the road, with the reorganization and deployment of electrical wires for private generators, as well as the existing umbrellas that were published randomly, which formed an obstacle that affects the movement of visitors and vehicles, in addition to distorting the image of the street, and after that the work of covering and paving the sides of the street will be completed."
