A member of the Committee for Follow-up of the Hussaini Processions, Mr. Jawad Al-Hasnawi, confirmed that the Ashura mourning events that the Hussaini organizations and processions hold in Karbala, were divided into two groups, taking into account the exceptional health conditions that the country is going through due to the Corona virus.
He added, "Decrees will be performed from day to day, with an emphasis on adherence to health directives issued by the relevant authorities in this regard."
Indicating: “The Hussainian Rituals and Processions Department of the Holy Shrines of the Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) held an extensive meeting with representatives from Karbala’s morning parties and bodies, and came up with decisions with the agreement of these parties and bodies, the most important of which is to divide them into two groups in line with the current exceptional circumstance."
He pointed out: “A schedule for the descent of these processions starts from the first day of the month of Muharram, and only two processions will commemorate it with specific participant numbers, and in accordance with strict preventive and health measures that ensure social distancing, while wearing all the protective equipment of masks and gloves.”
Adding: “The schedule agreed upon in the meeting includes two groups to hold the mourning rituals in an area between the Two Holy Shrines, the first group on (2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th) Moharram, which will be allocated to the Atraf Abbasiya, Bab Al-Khan, Bab Al-Taq, Bab Al-Salameh, Al-Saffarin, and al-Mokhayyam. As for the second group, it included Bab Baghdad and Jam'iyyah, Bab al-Najaf, al-Baluch, Iskan, and al-Abbas city that whill hold the rituals on the days of (3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th) Moharram.
