Taking into account the commitment to health conditions and the achievement of social distancing, the funeral processions begin with their condolences rituals.

On the first morning of Moharram 1442 AH corresponding to (August 21, 2020), the Karbala'i funerals processions took place, amidst strict precautionary measures, whether by those in charge of the processions, or by the service of the two holy shrines, taking into account the application of all health measures recommended by the supreme religious authority and the relevant authorities, which are urging the achievement of the principle of social distancing and taking all preventive measures, from wearing masks and gloves in addition to sterilization, taking into account the current circumstance and the repercussions of the spread of the Corona epidemic.
The sanctuary of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon them both) witnessed the flow of these processions successively, according to their schedule of time and place that was prepared in advance, organized by the Department of Hussayni Rituals and Processions of the Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) Holy Shrines.
The starting point of these processions was from the Qibla Street to the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) passing through it, crossing the square between the Two Holy Shrines, to conclude at the shrine of the Master of the Martyrs Imam Aba Abdillah Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

Hashem Al-Mousawi, Assistant Head of the Department of Husseini Rituals and Processions, stated, for his part, “An agreement was reached in the presence of our department with the parties, processions and Hussaini bodies that will perform the ceremonies in this exceptional year, and accordingly a special schedule was set for the descent of the Hussaini processions according to the first ten days of Moharram, and the schedule includes the descent of specific number of participants from each procession according to strict preventive and health measures, and that the council held in the holy shrine is for only for fifteen minutes, in order to let other processions enter the shrine in a way that avoid crowds.
It is noteworthy that the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), have taken strict regulatory and health measures that ensure the achievement of these processions, work on their flow and maintain their pace, after special pathways have been allocated for their entry and exit, and with a continuous presence with these processions from their starting point until their conclusion, in addition to the deployment of these processions. in addition to mobile teams that sterilize the place.
