The red carpet covers the area between the Two Holy Shrines.

Late last night, the staffs of the department of between the Two Holy Shrines, and those with them from the Service Affairs Department at the al-Abbas's Holy Shrine, finished the furnishings of the square between the Two Holy Shrines with a red carpet, the area of which was estimated at more than (14,000) square meters. This is part of the ongoing preparations to receive the mourners on the tenth of Moharram, in a manner that ensures their ease and smooth movement.
This is what the head of the aforementioned department, Sayed. Nafeh Al-Mousawi, explained to Al-Kafeel Network, and added: “The furnishings of this carpet also included the area extending from the gates of the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) Holy Shrine overlooking the aforementioned square, up to the gates of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine facing it; Gate Imam al-Hassan, Gate of Imam al-Hussayn and Gate of Saheb az-Zaman (peace be upon them).
He explained: "In addition to placing the red carpet, a layer of transparent (nylon) was laid under the carpet, in order to ensure the passage of the funeral processions without slipping or instability in the visitors' movement, because the floor is covered with marble and this impedes the movement."
It is noteworthy that all departments of the two holy shrines mobilized all its efforts several days ago to receive visitors, mourners and the Hussaini processions, following all preventive and precautionary measures recommended by the supreme religious authority and the competent health authorities.
