Al-Kafeel University ranks advanced position in the international Scopus database.

Al-Kafeel University, affiliated to the Education and Higher Education Authority at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, ranked sixth among the global Scopus database for published scientific research, according to its latest reports, out of 64 Iraqi universities and colleges, 32 ones entered it, and the al-Kafeel University participated with (163) research papers for the period between mid-May until early September of this year.

On this subject, the university president, Prof. Dr. Nawras Al-Dahan, spoke to Al-Kafeel Network, saying: “The University’s obtaining this rank of classification came based on the directives of the Senior Officer of the al-Abbas's holy shrine, His Eminence Sayed. Ahmad Al-Safi, who urged the Education and Higher Education Commission to pay attention to applicable scientific research that serve the society and continue to publish them on the most important accredited scientific magazines. The university has worked to create and provide a suitable research environment for its researchers to encourage them to prepare and publish their research in international journals classified within the databases of (Clarivate) and (Scopus). "

Stressing: “The university’s entry into the (Scopus) databases and obtaining this advanced rank is considered a starting point for achieving more advanced ranks in the future, whether in this classification or in other international classifications. And the university is continuing its approach aiming to enter into all international rankings and achieving advanced ranks in them. "

In this regard, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kadhem Abdel-Saheb, sent a letter to the faculty members in government and private universities and colleges, which included:

(I am pleased and proud of what you have accomplished and what you have achieved in overcoming challenges and difficulties, and we must not stop at this stage to register new research and to market scientific research inside and outside the country, through research work teams working in different specializations and producing integrated knowledge that enables institutions and companies to implement them and benefit from them, so that our Iraq in general and our scientific edifices in particular - governmental and civil - would be a model in the region and the world).

It is noteworthy that the Scopus database is one of the approved global databases, and it gives an accurate indication of the classification of international journals and international research in various disciplines.
