The memory of the bombing of the shrine of the imams al-Hadi and al-‘Askari (peace be upon them both

In this day, we commemorate the anniversary of the terrorist attack on our symbol of Samarra, the wound is not healed over the centuries, as in such a day; the twenty-third of Muharram 1427 AH the coward assault occurred on the shrine of the Imams Al-Hadi and Al-'Askari (peace be upon both of them) in the holy city of Samarra, in which its holy dome was demolished by the hands of the criminal gangs and the Kharijites of this era.

This great strategy in which the sanctity of the holy Household of the chosen Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon him holy Household) was violated, making the hearts of tens of millions of their lovers and followers all over the world to weep, and added a great sadness to their numerous sorrows that rolled and piled throughout history by the tyrants and oppressors.

The vicious attack occurred when a terrorist group has broken into the shrine of Imam Al-Askari's (p) holy shrine in Samarra at seven o'clock on the morning of the 23rd of Muharram 1427 AH, after that they have tied up the police protecting the shrine, who were only five people, and then planted two explosive devices under the holy dome to detonate it. As a result of this explosion, a large part of the holy shrine containing the holy bodies of Imam Ali Al-Hadi and Imam Al-Hassan Al-'Askari (peace be upon both of them) was damaged and a large part of the holy dome has collapsed after the two bombs that were only three minutes apart.

After this criminal bombing, the official and popular replies were all denouncing it, and a state of tension has prevailed in the Iraqi street where the criminals who committed this vicious attack wanted to make it a platform for comprehensive sectarian strife in Iraq, but the high wisdom of the supreme religious authority in Najaf has prevented that, as the great scholars in Najaf have held an emergent meeting to discuss the repercussions of the bombing, which has targeted the shrine of Imam Al-Hadi and Imam al-'Askari (peace be upon both of them), and each of them has issued a statement that tried to calm the tension and prevent sedition.

They have wanted to extinguish the light of the people of the house of prophecy (peace be upon them) by this tragedy, {but Allah refuses except to perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it.} (9:32).
