With the participation of researchers from inside and outside Iraq: The conclusion of the activities of the first international conference on the Noble Qur’an and contemporary Orientalist thought.

On Thursday afternoon (5th Safar 1442 AH) corresponding to (September 24, 2020), the works of the first international scientific conference on the Holy Qur’an and Contemporary Orientalist Thought, which was held online Dar Rasool A'dham (Allah' prayers be upon him and his family) affiliated to the al-'Ameed International Center for Research and Studies in it, under the slogan: (It is not but a message and a clear Qur'an) and under the title: (The Noble Qur’an in Contemporary Orientalist Studies .. Critical Approaches to the Encyclopedia of the Qur’an "Leiden").

The conclusion of the conference witnessed the delivery of a speech by Sheikh Hassan Al-Hadi, Director of the Islamic Center for Strategic Studies, Beirut Branch, which stated: “The conference was held electronically due to the current circumstances, after it was hoped that it would be held in the holy city of Karbala, and a group of researchers from inside and outside Iraq participated, including researchers from: (Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Iran, Morocco, and Saudi Arabia). In their research papers, over the course of five sessions, the researchers discussed several content and methodological aspects of the encyclopedia, including: the scientific and methodological aspect of this Orientalist work, It is noticeable, through our follow-up of the themes, topics, and research methodology adopted in this encyclopedia, the occurrence of a large portion of the encyclopedia's editors in fallacies, errors and problematic content, as well as lack of objectivity in many of the methodological aspects adopted in this encyclopedia."

The participants in the conference came out with a number of recommendations:



First: Issuing the research papers presented at the conference in a book in the Arabic language and translating a focused scientific material into the English language, and sending it officially to those involved in the Encyclopedia of the Noble Qur’an (Leiden) so that they are familiar with the viewpoint of Muslim researchers and their propositions and ideas.



Second: Directing researchers and urging research centers, educational institutions, and university and governmental personalities to critically research the topics presented in the Encyclopedia of the Qur’an (Leiden), and work on publishing them in a series of critical studies and translating them into other languages, especially the English language.



Third: Writing the editor-in-chief of the encyclopedia, Mrs. Jane Demon McAuliffe, and presenting the scientific notes, which were contained in the research of this conference in terms of content, methodology and technicality after extracting, classifying and classifying them, and inviting her to adhere to what she committed to in the introduction to the encyclopedia of constant readiness to develop and review in subsequent editions. The encyclopedia is already invited to this review; Perhaps it will achieve its goal of making the Qur’an available for correct understanding by humans, whether in the east or in the west.



Fourth: Activating the encyclopedic Islamic authentication research projects related to the interpretation of the Noble Qur’an, its sciences and Qur’anic studies, and encouraging specialized Muslim researchers and supporting them to engage in these projects and publish them as part of a series of joint works in the Arabic and other European languages.



Fifthly: Focusing attention on monitoring the scientific and research movement in the field of Oriental Studies of the Noble Qur’an and its sciences and its developments in the last four decades, and working to monitor and criticize them.



Sixth: Analyzing priorities in the field of monitoring, researching, evaluating and criticizing Orientalist studies of the Holy Qur’an.



Seventh: The translation of what needs to be translated from the studies, books and Orientalist researches of the Noble Qur’an from the European mother tongue, especially German, French and English, in order to make them available for criticism and evaluation in front of researchers.



Eighth: Activating scientific and research communication with Western research centers and educational institutions, in the process of directing them towards authentic Islamic references in the interpretation of the Noble Qur’an and its sciences, and the methodologies and mechanisms adopted in studying and understanding the Qur’an, and supplementing them with lists of names of contemporary Muslim researchers specialized in the field of interpretation of the Qur’an and its sciences.



Ninth: Follow-up to periodically hold other conferences and scientific seminars dealing with evaluation and criticism of the studies produced by the contemporary West in relation to the Holy Qur’an.



Tenth: Cooperating with research centers and university and governmental educational institutions in promoting research in the field of Orientalist studies of the Noble Qur’an, and developing it through the establishment of joint research and scientific activities with conferences, seminars, festivals, rehabilitating workshops for researchers, research seminars, and publications dealing with contemporary and newly related topics and challenges in the fields of research.

In conclusion, Sheikh Hassan Al-Hadi thanked all the participants and organizers of the conference, who worked to make it a success despite the distance due to the current circumstance.
