The al-Kafeel Hospital's doctors successfully treat a 6-year-old girl suffering from congenital heart defects.

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital announced that it had successfully treated a 6-year-old girl suffering from a large opening in the heart along with other complications in the child's condition due to the treatment delay.

A specialist in pediatric heart surgery at the hospital, Dr. Ahmed Aboudi, said: “Our medical team succeeded in closing a large opening in the heart of a six-year-old girl. Indicating that because of the delay in the surgery, complications occurred that led to the deterioration of her health, and she weighs 14kgs only".

Aboudi added: "Such operations are carried out at the age of six months to one year." Explaining that the delay of the surgery causes complications, including pneumonia and high pulmonary artery pressure, and this leads to the death of the patient.

He pointed out that after the operation, the patient was admitted to the Cardiac Care Unit to closely monitor her health condition. And then she was taken to a special room with her family. Confirming that the child is now in good health and has returned to her normal life.
