The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine and the Karbala Governorate are preparing the final design for the development and rehabilitation of the entrance to Bab Baghdad.

This evening, Tuesday (1 Rabi` Thani 1442 AH) corresponding to (November 17, 2020), a meeting was held that included the Secretary General of the al-Abbas's (P) Holy Shrine; Engineer Mohammad al-Ashigar, some members of the board of directors and heads of its engineering departments, with the director of the municipality of Karbala, his assistant, and some engineers, as well as the commander of the regiment for the protection of the Two Holy Shrines and the advisory office of the University of Karbala.
The meeting that took place at the Holy Shrine came to develop the final design for the development of the entrance to the old city, from the northern side (the Bab Baghdad area).
It is noteworthy that the Secretary-General of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Engineer Mohammad al-Ashigar, accompanied by the Governor of Karbala, Engineer Nassif Jassim al-Khattabi, conducted a field tour at the entrance to the Baghdad Gate leading to the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them both), in order to be informed and work on developing the necessary plans to begin developing and rehabilitating it in a way that contributes to increasing its area to facilitate the movement of visitors, especially on the special Ziyarat.
