The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine rehabilitates a water desalination plant in one of Karbala's districts.

The cadres of the Engineering Projects Department working in the Water Station Division have begun rehabilitation and maintenance work for a water desalination plant to provide service to visitors to the shrine of 'Awn Ibn Abdillah (may God be pleased with him), which is witnessing construction and development works.
The head of the engineering projects department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Eng. Dea Majeed Al-Sa'egh, said: “The engineering projects department continues its work within the prepared plans that aim to provide the ideal service to the visitors in the various regions of our country, especially in the places that embrace the holy shrines and sanctuaries. And the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine seeks to transfer its successful urban achievements to other holy shrines and sanctuaries."
Adding: “Our engineering and technical staff have started the maintenance and rehabilitation work of the desalination plant (RO) for the benefit of the shrine of Awn Ibn Abdillah, as part of the cooperation agreement between the two parties, as the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has fully taken over the expenses of this project, which is part of its duty towards the holy city Karbala, in order to provide all the requirements for developing the infrastructure for this shrine, which is visited by large number of visitors from inside and outside the holy city of Karbala."
The official of the Water Division in the Engineering Projects Department, Mr. Bassam Al-Hashimi, stated: “The works consisted of operating and reconfiguring the desalination (RO) station on Karbala-Baghdad road near the shrine, as 60% of the previous station parts were replaced and pumps and osmotic filters were added, as well as setting an electric board with advanced technologies to make the station fully automatic, in addition to replacing the primary filtration materials and adding a chlorine water disinfection system. The capacity of the plant is 3000 liters / hour, providing clean drinking water for visitors and processions, in addition to equipping four neighboring schools and 1000 houses in the area surrounding the Holy Shrine."
Adding: "Our work started with the maintenance of the old pump and adding some spare parts to it, as well as the addition of a special pump, and the replacement of all the station's pipes by high quality PPR pipes. The station was equipped with a (TDS) type (HANNA) device known for its quality and sobriety for the main pipe of raw water. The work is carried out according to the timings set for the project, which will be an important addition to serve the region and the visitors."
