The launch of the activities of the third International Al-Kafeel Museum.

This morning, Saturday (5 Rabi` Thani 1442 AH), corresponding to (November 21, 2020), the Third International al-Kafeel Museum conference was launched electronically via the (ZOOM) platform, under the slogan (Museums and Modern Technologies) held by the Al-Kafeel Museum of Treasures ​​and Manuscripts at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, with the participation of researchers from Iraqi universities: (Babylon, Kufa, Baghdad, Salah al-Din, Muthanna, Al-Mustansiriya, and Qadisiyah), and from Iraqi museums: (Al-Qishla Museum, the Iraqi Museum, the Natural Museum in Basra, the Egyptian Museum, and the Iraqi Antiquities and Heritage).

The conference, which was held in the hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) at the Holy Shrine,, and was attended by a number of members of its board of directors and heads of its departments, and a group of researchers and specialists in the museum’s affairs, began by reciting verses from the Holy Quran, followed by listening to the national anthem and the hymn of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; the melody of the Pride.

After that, a member of the Board of Directors of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Professor Dr. Abbas Rashid Al-Mousawi, delivered a speech on behalf of its secretariat, and during which he conveyed the greetings of the Senior Officer of the Holy Shrine, His Eminence Sayed. Ahmad Al-Safi and his wishes that the conference will achieve its desired goals, and this edition will be crowned with success.

Then came the speech of the Public Authority for Antiquities and Heritage delivered on its behalf by Dr. Laith Abdul Majeed Hussein, in which he emphasized that today we need a comprehensive awareness of this generation so it preserves the country's heritage; because it is one of the country's elements of success...

This was followed by a speech by the Arab Organization of Museums (ICOM-Arab), which is the official representation of the International Council of Museums in the Arab region, delivered by Sharqi Dahmani from Morocco, President of the International Committee for Scientific and Technical Museums, in which he explained: "In a short period of time, less than twelve years, the al-Kafeel Museum has managed to impose itself within the museum fabric in Iraq, and we, as an organization, value and help such museum institutions..."

Then came a speech by the head of the al-Kafeel Museum department, Mr. Sadiq Lazem, in which he explained: “This conference that was held under the slogan (museums and modern technologies) highlighted that most of the modern museums, including the al-Kafeel museum, has worked during the Corona pandemic on investing the modern technology to reach the visitor.



After this speech, a documentary was displayed showing the most important activities and holdings of the museum, after which the morning research session was launched.
