With the participation of more than one hundred paintings from 15 directorates of education: Announcing the names of the winners of the Artistic Life Painting competition.

The names of the winners of the (Life Painting) art competition for middle school students, which was established by the University and School Relations Division of the Public Relations Department at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, under the slogan: (In response to charity, a painting of life will be hung on the walls), and in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Education - the Department of School and Sports Activities, in appreciation of the efforts made by the medical staff facing the Corona pandemic, and in memory of he who sacrificed himself for this human service, were announced this morning, Saturday (12 Rabi` Thani 1442 AH) corresponding to (November 28, 2020) at the Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) conference hall.

The announcement was part of an honorary ceremony attended by a number of officials of the Holy Shrine and representatives from the Ministry of Education.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq and the medical staffs, then listening to the Iraqi national anthem and the hymn of the Holy Shrine (The Pride's Melody).

After that, there was a speech by the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (P) holy shrine delivered by a member of its board of directors and head of its public relations department, Professor Dr. Rashid Abbas al-Mousawi, in which he stated: “The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine continues to spread a spirit of hope and optimism in this life regardless of threats and challenges...

This was followed by a speech of the Ministry of Education delivered by the Director of the School Activity Department, Mr. Hassan Al-Shuwaili, in which he affirmed: "The religious institutions seek always to preserve the unity of Iraq in order to build a new Iraq free of all prejudices..."

This speech was followed by a video presentation to introduce this competition.

Then the competition’s arbitration committee, consisting of Dr. Shawqi Mustafa Al-Mousawi as president, and Mr. Aqeel Abd Muslim and Mr. Abbas Riyad, delivered a speech, in which they stated: “The holy shrines in Iraq in general and the al-Abbas (p) holy shrine in particular, are keen to embrace cultural, academic and educational projects with an intellectual, scientific and artistic aspect. And the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine continues to sponsor festivals, conferences, competitions, seminars and artistic and developmental workshops at the national, regional and international level. And this educational student gathering is one of them. This student art competition is held in the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Najaf Charitable Foundation. These pictures are one of the images of the bright history in Iraq that reveals the young artists from students of Iraqi schools. There were 100 work painted in various methods but having the same important theme, which is the White Army. Congratulations to all the participants in the success of this national competition, and greetings to the participating education directorates, which number reached (15) directorates out of (20).

After that, the names of the winners of this competition were announced.

This ceremony was concluded by honoring the jury and the supporting bodies with certificates of appreciation, with a tour of a miniature exhibition in which the winning works were placed.
