Doctors at Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital have succeeded in removing a tumor in the salivary gland of a twenty-year-old patient.

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital announced that it had successfully removed a tumor in the parotid salivary gland for a 20-year-old patient.

The facial and maxillofacial specialist at the hospital, Dr. Radwan Al-Ta'i, said: “Our medical team succeeded in removing a tumor from the parotid salivary gland of a 20-year-old patient, through a new opening around the ear pinna.”

Indicating: “The operation was conducted without leaving any trace on the face of the patient. "

Al-Ta’i added, "This operation is the first of its kind in Iraq, and the used technique in it is the latest in surgical techniques."

Stressing that: "This method is very new, and surgeons recently began using it in the United States of America in the state of Los Angeles."
