A medical team at Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital announced that it had successfully removed an entire tumor from the pancreas of a patient in her fifties.
General surgeon / specializing in gastrointestinal, liver and pancreatic surgery, Dr. Saad Al-Allaq, said: “Our medical team succeeded in removing a tumor from the pancreas of a 53-year-old patient,” indicating that the tumor is (15 x 12) cm.
Al-Allaq added, "The tumor was completely removed as well as the spleen and about (80%) of the pancreas, to preserve the rest of the body's organs," explaining: "The tumor was attached to the stomach, duodenum, spleen and its arteries."
The specialist in gastrointestinal and liver surgery confirmed: "The patient regained her healthy condition after the operation, which lasted about three hours."
