Children express their grief on the memory of the martyrdom of Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her).

On Tuesday evening (13 Jumada Ula 1442 AH) corresponding to (December 29, 2020), a mourning procession included a group of children under the age of ten, accompanied by their mothers, to remember the martyrdom and burial of Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her) in 11 AH.

This procession was headed by a group of the Sayed servants working at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine carrying a symbolic coffin from the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) to the holy shrine of his brother Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), to extend their condolences.

This mourning event is part of the Fatimi Season of Sorrows Festival, which is held by the Department of Hussayni Rituals and Processions in the Holy Shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them).

According to the head of the aforementioned department, Haj Riad Ni'mah Al-Salman: “This children procession is one of the new additions to this festival, which expresses the sympathy of these children to Imams Al-Hassan and Al-Hussayn (peace be upon them), who bid farewell to their mother az-Zahra (may God’s peace be upon her) on such day - according to the second narration -. A group of visitors and families of children who wore white clothes and carried candles, joined them to recall the sad events that happened in the house of prophecy after the martyrdom of Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her). "

He concluded by saying: “The children's participation in the Fatimi Season of Sorrows came to contribute to entrenching the love of the Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and of our Lady az-Zahra (may God’s peace be upon her) in the children's hearts. The parents of these children are the ones who took the initiative to bring them and involve them in this activity. But as a result of the current health situation, the matter was limited to small groups due to the repercussions of the Corona pandemic."
