The Quail Bird Project produces 20,000 birds per month and sets up a plan to double production.

The management of the quail bird production project affiliated to the Al-Kafeel Public Investments Company, one of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine companies, announced that its production has reached (20 thousand) birds per month, and there is a plan to double production to reach higher levels during this year in order to meet the needs of the local market. The increase in production came as a result of the great demand for the product in the local market because it is characterized by the quality of its meat and eggs, and there are efforts within the development plans for this project to increase the production capacity to more than (40,000) birds per month.

The the director of the company, Engineer Rasul Al-Rammah, stated to the al-Kafeel Network: "The quail breeding project is one of the pioneering projects in the Karbala province and the first of its kind in Iraq, and it was able to contribute to supporting the national product, restoring confidence in it and reducing the quantity of what is imported from outside the country." .

He indicated: "The project contains four halls equipped with all the necessary supplies, including hatcheries and incubators for hatching eggs and raising chicks, and each hall contains cages that accommodate (6000) birds of mothers who produce hatching eggs and table eggs."

He confirmed: "The monthly production of the project is (20,000) birds that are marketed with the produced eggs to the al-Kafeel centers and other markets, and the other part of (fertilized eggs) is used in the hatching process within the project for their reproduction."

It is noteworthy that the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has adopted many industrial, agricultural and animal projects that support the national product, to restore confidence in it and reduce what is imported from outside the country, such as the pioneering and successful project of quail breeding, built one 10.000 square meters and located on the road (Najaf - Karbala).
