Holding a meeting to discuss the final designs for the new al-Ameed University site.

The committee tasked with preparing the final designs for the new al-Ameed university site held an expanded meeting attended by the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, His Eminence Ahmad Al-Safi, its Secretary General, his deputy and a number of its board members, and representatives of the Education and Higher Education Authority therein in addition to the presidents of the al-Kafeel and al-Ameed Universities.

Three designs prepared by the Engineering Projects Department at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine were presented by the head of the department, Eng. Dia Majeed Al-Sa'egh, who gave a detailed explanation of each design in addition to listening to notes and interventions by the bodies that oversaw the presentation of designs, and other remarks made by the Secretary-General of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, the presidents of al-Kafeel and al-Ameed Universities; Prof. Dr. Nawras Al-Dahan and Prof. Muayad Al-Ghazali, and Dr. Jassem Al-Ibrahimi, General Director of Al-Kafeel Hospital.

The Secretary-General of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Eng. Mohammad Al-Ashigar, told Al-Kafeel Network, saying: “This meeting was held to discuss the designs of the new site for the al-Ameed University, and to come up with a common vision that includes a comprehensive design for all the university’s details, and in line with the expansion that it will witness to ensure the advancement of higher education in the country. Three designs prepared by the Engineering Projects Department were presented, and they were discussed extensively, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each design, presenting a vision aimed at blending these three designs and collecting their strengths in a new design that will be prepared and discussed at a later time in a way that contributes to creating an advanced and modern academic educational environment consistent with the goals of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in establishing such scientific edifices."

The President of the al-Ameed University; Prof. Dr. Muayad Al-Ghazali, explained: “Today we discussed three proposed engineering plans that consist of seven buildings for the faculties of medicine, dentistry and nursing and two other colleges, in addition to its laboratories, a central laboratory, a building for the presidency of the university and another for the central library, in addition to green spaces and entertainment venues that will all be built on an area estimated at more than (40) dunums [4 Hectars]. The specified completion period is three years. The new site of the al-Ameed University will be an academic scholarly icon in Karbala Governorate, in line with international specifications and the requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Scientific, and will provide an academic environment for dear students.”
