The success of implanting artificial bone to replace lost bone at al-Kafeel Hospital.

A medical team at the Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced its success in stabilizing a fractured bone and implanting a missing bone in the upper arm of a patient from the city of Nasiriyah.

The orthopedic and fracture specialist at the hospital, Dr. Mustafa Waleed, said: “Our medical team succeeded in fixing a fracture and implanting a missing bone from the right upper arm for a patient from Dhi Qar Governorate,” noting that: “The patient was subjected to a gunshot wound three months ago that caused him this fracture, with the loss of a large portion of the humerus."

Dr. Waleed added, "The operation took about three hours, during which artificial bone was implanted and bone was taken from the patient's own pelvis to replace the lost bone," stressing the success of the operation.
