A researcher from Al-Kafeel University wins the Gold Medal of the International Federation of Inventors' Associations.

The head of the clinical pharmacy branch at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Al-Kafeel University, Assistant Professor Dr. Zaid Mahdi Al-Obaidi, received the Gold Medal from the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA FPME) for his participation in the Beirut International Innovation Exhibition (BIIS 2021) organized by the National Authority for Science and Research, which is the focal point for the Middle East of the Union.
Al-Obaidi said in an interview with the Al-Kafeel Network: “The exhibition, which was held online, is a pioneering global gathering of creators, inventors and investors, with a strong focus on technology transfer and the appreciation of scientific research.
It aims to display the innovations of inventors and innovators from different countries of the world and get to know them, and to confirm the position of countries on the global innovation map despite all the circumstances that the whole world is going through, within the framework of the agency’s strategy based on protecting intellectual property and innovations and promoting technology transfer. The number of participating inventions has reached (170) inventions from (14) countries.
He added, "The invention was about preparing, diagnosing and evaluating the bio-efficacy of a derivative of ibuprofen, which is used to treat colon and breast cancer cells, and aims to find a drug to treat cancer with the lowest possible toxicity."
Noting: “The conditions achieved by this work are entitled to a global invention patent thanks to the originality and uniqueness of the work, and Al-Kafeel University provided the scientific environment, the academic atmosphere, constant care and encouragement, where there was communication and meetings with the President of Al-Kafeel University and his assistants, who worked to overcome all difficulties and come up with this result that led to winning this medal. "
