Removing a tumor on the pancreas and portal vein at al-Kafeel Hospital.

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital announced that it had successfully removed a cancerous tumor from the head of the pancreas for a patient in his 60s.

Dr. Muayad al-Naqeeb, a specialist in gastrointestinal and liver surgery at the hospital, stated that: “Our medical team succeeded in performing the “Whipple” operation, which included removing a cancerous tumor for a 60-year-old patient from Nasiriyah Governorate, adding that “the tumor is located in the head of the pancreas occupying the portal vein."

Dr. al-Naqeeb explained, "The operation was good, the portal vein is regular and there is no clot in it, and the patient is now in good health."
