The Office of the Supreme Religious Authority: Friday is the first day of the blessed Eid al-Fitr.

The Office of the Supreme Religious Authority in Najaf; His Eminence Sayed al-Sistani, announces that the investigation of the crescent moon of the month of Shawwal has been done after the sun set of this Wednesday 29th of the holy month of Ramadhan 1442 AH corresponding to May 12, 2021. And the crescent moon was not seen with the naked eye in Iraq and its surrounding areas on this night.
And since the fatwa of His Eminence is that the first of the month in each region follows the possibility of seeing the crescent moon with the naked eye and it does not help to be able to see it in other areas. Tomorrow Thursday will be the thirtieth of the holy month of Ramadhan and Friday will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
