A medical team at the Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine successfully performed a knee joint replacement operation for a female patient, after which she was able to stand on her feet again.
A specialist in orthopedic, fracture and joint surgery at the hospital, the Iranian doctor Abu al-Fadl Bagheri, said: “Our medical team succeeded in replacing the knee joint of a female patient who is (73) years old.”
He explained: "The patient was suffering from a knee joint osteoarthritis, which caused her to be unable to walk because of the severe pain."
Dr. Bagheri confirmed: "The patient regained her health and was able to walk on her feet one day after the operation."
