This was explained to the al-Kafeel Network, by the official of the aforementioned group, Engineer Hassanein Mohamed, who added: "The Apiaries project is added to the series of agricultural projects of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, which comes in the framework of its efforts to supply the local economy with renewable resources, and contribute to increasing agricultural production in quantity and quality and developing it, and working to create a state of self-sufficiency in bees products for the holy city of Karbala as a first step, through meeting its agricultural, nutritional and curative needs.
Noting: "What distinguishes the honey produced in our apiaries is that it is 100% natural and of different qualities, by providing the agricultural environment for its production by electing agricultural sites inside and outside the holy city of Karbala, according to sources of nutrition such as (Sidr, eucalyptus, alfalfa, and sunflower), in addition to wild plants, which are the main element in the classification of its qualities, because it depends on the plant or flower that the bee visits."
He further explained: "We rely on travel in our work, that is, bee hives are transferred from one region to another according to the availability of food in the crops from which honey is extracted, and this is what distinguishes the production and variety of (Al-Kafeel honey) as well as its quality, so you find (al-Kafeel honey) available in all seasons.
Pointing out that: “The most prominent type of honey produced is honey of Sidr, which is remarkably unique to the al-Kafeel group of apiaries, due to many things and reasons, including that the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine provided a private farm for growing Sidr trees and the production of buckthorn.”
