Al-Ameed University commemorates the martyrdom of Imam as-Sadeq (peace be upon him).

Al-Ameed University, affiliated to the Education and Higher Education Commission at the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine, commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of the sixth of the imams of guidance (peace be upon them); Imam Jaafar as-Sadeq (may God’s peace be upon him), through the establishment of a condolence council held in the hall of Imam al-Mojtaba (peace be upon him) at the university.

The council was held in the presence of the university's president, his assistants, a number of deans of its faculties, professors, employees and students

The council, which was organized by the Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at the university, began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran recited by a student of the university, followed by a religious lecture given by Sheikh Mohamad Al-Greyti from the Department of Religious Affairs, in which he spoke about the life and jihad of Imam Jaafar Ibn Mohammad as-Sadeq (peace be upon him). In addition to his science, jurisprudence, piety, knowledge and scientific treasures for the Islamic nation, and how he established a scientific university for various sciences, in which more than (4000) students graduated, who spread his sciences all over the world.

Al-Greyti also discussed the Imam’s method of spreading science, stressing also that we must draw lessons from his life (may God’s peace be upon him), as he was working to spread the culture, sciences and jurisprudence of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and his grandfather, the Messenger of God (may God bless him and his family). The lecture concluded with a poignant and sad obituary, after which one of the university employees participated with an elegy in the Hussayni poetry section, and recite verses about this sad and painful memory of martyrdom of Imam as-Sadeq (peace be upon him).
