The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, represented by the departments of intellectual and cultural affairs and the affairs of Islamic and human knowledge, participated in the activities of the 22nd Baghdad International Book Fair, which started on Thursday morning (Shawwal 28, 1442 AH) corresponding to June 10, 2021 under the slogan: (The Book is a Homeland), with the participation of more than (220) local, Arab and foreign publishing houses. The fair lasts for ten days.
Regarding this participation, the official of the Exhibitions and Arts Unit and the official of the pavilion, Mr. Mohamad Al-A'raji, stated to the Al-Kafeel Network: “Participation in this important cultural forum falls within the previous and ongoing participation in a number of international and local exhibitions, in order to contribute to the dissemination of the culture of reading and the book, in addition to informing the exhibition goers on the most prominent intellectual and cultural products of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in various fields. And in this year we participated with two pavilions that included a set of publications that address all groups."
He added: "The participation, God willing, will complement the series of participations and successes that we achieved in the previous editions of the Fair, which is one of the most important windows through which the Holy Shrine overlooks its external surroundings. Noting that the valuable books and publications that are presented highlight the size of the cultural movement and the scientific and intellectual renaissance at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, which positively reflected on the distinguished books and publications in the cultural, intellectual and heritage fields that were characterized by the modernity and diversity, and they are pure products from the Holy Shrine, starting from authorship to printing, a feature that distinguished our pavilion in this Book Fair."
It is noteworthy that the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has many previous participations in the Baghdad International Fair, which is one of its important exhibitions, in addition to its participation in many exhibitions and festivals inside and outside Iraq, in line with its approach in spreading the thought and teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). Its pavilion is witnessing an increasing demand from the public, and an increase in the number of publications in each exhibition compared to the previous one.
