Recalling the blessed occasion of the marriage of the Commander of the Faithful to Umm al-Baneen (peace be upon them).

The Noor Al-Hussayn Association (peace be upon him) in cooperation with the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held its second annual festival, to commemorate the marriage anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon him) to the venerable Lady Umm al-Baneen (peace be upon her), on the eve of the third of Dhu al-Qi'dah 1442 AH corresponding to (June 13, 2021) at the Imam Hassan Hall (peace be upon him) at the Holy Shrine, in the presence of a number of heads of its departments and divisions in addition to a group of Karbala residents and representatives of its processions and bodies.

The Head of the Department of Hussayni Rites, Processions and Organizations, Haj Riyadh Ni'mat al-Salman, told Al-Kafeel Network, “The holding of this festival for the second year is inspired by the saying of Imam as-Sadeq (peace be upon him): (Our Shiites were created from the rest of our clay, they rejoice at our joy and grieve for our sorrow).

Therefore this organization is keen to commemorate and recall this auspicious anniversary, which is the marriage of the Commander of the Faithful with the immaculate Lady Umm al-Baneen (peace be upon her). It is an opportunity to shed light on a piece of the life of this venerable lady and the great rank given to her by God Almighty and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)."

He added that: “Remembering this virtuous lady is a reminder of her stance, giving and obedience to the imam of her time, Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon him). She presented four children who were heroes who were immortalized in Islamic history with their courage and heroism on the day of Karbala. She was a faithful and loyal woman to him and his sons (peace be upon them) until her death (peace be upon her) in the city of the Messenger (may Allah's prayers be upon him and his family).

In the same context, Saad Al-Hajj Ali, the official of the Noor Al-Hussayn Association (peace be upon him), explained: “This festival is held in cooperation with the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine. And because our committee is specialized in reviving the births and joys of the imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), so we have set aside an area of ​​our activities to recall this blessed marriage as a reminder of the stances of this venerable lady. The festival included speeches in addition to the participation of a number of poets, whose poems chanted the love and status of this lady and her heroism, and the heroism of her four children, led by Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).

It is mentioned that the date of the marriage of the Commander of the Faithful to Umm al-Baneen (peace be upon them) is not mentioned in the history books and biography, but this date; second of the month of Dhu al-Qi’dah is an approximate date.
