A women mourning assembly to remember the martyrdom of Imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon him).

The Hussayni Women Speech Division of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine organized the annual mourning council to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the ninth imam of guidance; Imam Mohammad al-Jawad (peace be upon him), in one of the basements of the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), in the presence of a group of female mourners. The assembly was held by following the safety and public health conditions of social distancing and adhering to health directives.

The assistant in charge of the aforementioned division, Ms. Taghreed Al-Tamimi, told Al-Kafeel Network, "This council is held in coordination with the Zaynabiyat Division at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in glorification of the rites of God Almighty in reviving the command of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and recalling their misfortunes, and what happened to the Islamic nation, especially the followers of Ahl al-Bayt on such days. This is what the Division is doing, as we have a special program to remember these sad events, which afflicted the family of the Messenger (peace be upon them), including the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon him)."

She added that: "The council will continue for two days and will be held in the afternoon, and includes, after reciting verses from the Holy Quran, a condolence lecture, which will be presented by one of the division's staff. It revolves around enlightening quotes from the life of Imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon him), and the most prominent stations that he went through, the injustice that befell him, right up to the incident of his martyrdom (may God’s peace be upon him), while emphasizing the necessity of enlightenment by his biography, and bearing the burdens of responsibility towards religion and humanity."

And she continued: "After that, a mourning elegy will be performed, its verses sing in remembrance of this calamity, and the bleeding wound it left in the hearts of the people of the Prophet's house (peace be upon them), their followers and their lovers. To conclude the assembly by reading the Dua al-Faraj for the Imam, the Master of the Order and the Time (may God hasten his reappearance), and praying so God ward off the epidemic and save Iraq and its people."

It is mentioned that Imam Mohammad al-Jawad son of Ali ar-Redha (peace be upon them) is the ninth imam of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). He was born in the year 195 AH and was martyred at the end of Dhul-Qi’dah in the year 220 AH, after that his wife Umm al-Fadl poisoned him by the order of al-Mu’tasim al-Abbasi. So that his pure soul departed from this world after the age of (25) years, and the period of his Imamate lasted (17) years.
